Storytelling and Visual Timeline of Sacred Beekeeping

Laura Bee brings the ethos of the ancient Sacred Beekeeper to life with a visual tapestry of symbols, archetypes and images. Her explorations into Greek and Minoan mythology and history, travels to Sacred Sites in Europe, Turkey and Peru, and her grounded grasp of our culture in situ bring forward a rooted vision of hope and a fresh de-colonized perspective into our relationship with the honeybee and Nature. With wit and deep insight, Laura aims to entertain and illuminate her vision of the Sacred Beekeeping lineage and share elements still living in our culture at large.

Six-fold Sacred Path: Science, Sacred, History, Mystery, Art/Medicine & Activism

Laura Bee will introduce the Six-Fold Sacred Path as collaboratively designed over the first six years of her program The College of the Melissae (of which she serves as it’s Director and Founder.)  Bees are the second most studied animal on the planet and have been celebrated as icons and Archetype since Ancient times. Honeybees are credited with teaching medicine to humans the world over and still are being studied for their gifts today.  Laura Bee founded the college with an eye toward formalizing these studies as well as developing a platform for people to explore the under-studied realms of; the Sacred, the personal mystery of meditations and dreamings so oft connected to beekeeping practices, and activism; since we so clearly need to protect pollinators, honeybees provide a universal and relatable symbol of environmentalism, industry and cooperation the world over.

5 Senses MeditationThe College of the Melissae is happy to share Five-Senses (and Senses Beyond Senses) Meditation.  This practice is helpful when seeking to work with and connect with Bees and Nature, or to de-stress heightened energy states.
